Individual and family financial gifts to Family &
Children’s Services have a positive impact on the lives
of at-risk and abused children, needy families and those
facing personal tragedy and crisis. Since 1893, friends
of Family & Children’s Services have helped us improve
the lives of thousands of families and children.
Family & Children’s Services also receives support from
civic, professional and community associations,
foundations and trusts and from the United Way of
Greater Union County. Family & Children’s Services is
able to improve the lives of the families and children we
serve through the generosity of its supporters. All
contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted
by law. Your gift truly makes a difference. If you wish

Planned Gifts
Planned gifts, including bequests and endowment
contributions, have provided the foundation for our
greatest periods of growth, as well as financial stability
to protect agency services during tough economic times. These types of gifts are especially
valuable to Family &
Children’s Services because they also offer
opportunities for new and innovative programs,
including prevention and early intervention efforts to
protect children and preserve families.
The concept of planned gifts is simple, although there
are many variations to suit donor preferences. These
gifts can benefit the giver, as well as the designated
charity. In exchange for donated assets, whether cash,
stocks, bonds or property, the donor may receive a tax
benefit, as well as an income for a specified number of
years.

Gifts in Kind
Each year, hundreds of families in our
community benefit from food, clothing,
books, toys and housewares donated to
Family & Children’s Services during the
holiday season. Your donations help
families in need make ends meet each day
and help make holidays more special.
Giving the Gift of Time
We seek volunteers who
are interested in:
- “Done in-a-day” projects (painting,
washing windows and beautification
projects)
- Seasonal volunteers to assist with the
annual Holiday Drive
- Planning and facilitating special events
- Committees of the Board of Trustees
