At-Risk Youth Counseling Services
The At-Risk Youth Counseling Services Program provides counseling services to children ages 9 through 14, at no cost to their families. Children who reside in Union County and are at risk for entering the Juvenile Justice System due to problems with peers, trouble in school or family conflict can receive 10 free counseling sessions.
Referral to the program can be made by parents/guardians, schools, community agencies, or faith-based organizations.
Services are provided by experienced counselors in one of Family & Children’s Services Elizabeth office locations.

Youth Counseling Program
The Youth Counseling Program provides in-home or community based counseling services to youth between the ages of 12 and 17 who are involved in one of Juvenile Justice Commission’s Points of Continuum (Diversion, Disposition, Detention, or Re-Entry).
Services are provided in the home or other designated community locations by experienced counselors for approximately 12 sessions (dependent on point of continuum). The goals of the program are to prevent further delinquent behavior, improve the youth’s ability to get along with family members, and to help the youth to function optimally in all areas of life.
Referrals to this program can be made by the Union County Court, Juvenile Conference Committee, the Family Crisis Intervention Unit, Juvenile Referee, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program, Law Enforcement, Detention Facilities, Detention Alternative Programs, Parole and Probation Departments and the Youth Services Bureau.
